Newsblur
NewsBlur is an open-source RSS feed reader which uses intelligence to try and feed you interesting things to read. All you need to do is to give it a list of the sites that you normally frequent and it will go off and get all of the articles for you. Sounds boring doesn’t it. Luckily the features don’t end there. Once it’s retrieved the feeds for you, you then tell the system which of the articles you are really interested in. Articles that you like are tagged in green, articles you are ambivalent about in yellow, and ones you really aren’t interested in red. In addition to this there are a lot of statistical information presented in the form of charts about the feeds.
There is also an open-source android app available: blar but I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet.
I guess this might be interesting for some people, but not for me right now. Still, the site is expected to grow in terms of features so it might be interesting to see where they get to in the next year.
